The Los Angeles Chargers today officially unveiled their state-of-the-art, in-house content studio at The Bolt – the team's El Segundo-based training facility and corporate headquarters that first opened its doors this past July. Located in the heart of Los Angeles's South Bay, the studio adds a powerful new element to the facility, highlighting the Chargers' ongoing commitment to creating best-in-class sports content, programming and experiences.

Developed with the support of experiential marketing leaders Jack Morton Worldwide and set design experts like IDF Studio Scenery, the studio is adaptable to changing trends and has a bold, modern aesthetic. In addition, Lighting Design Group and NEP Sweetwater, both Los Angeles-based firms, contributed professional-grade video displays and adaptable lighting solutions.

2023

Named "the Coliseum," this project redefines esports production by placing players at its core within a revolutionary 360-degree stage. Fans are invited to witness intimate details of gameplay, from mouse and keyboard maneuvers to unfiltered player interactions, elevating live audience engagement to unprecedented levels. Within the Coliseum, a 250-square-meter 1.8mm video tile backdrop showcases player desks, large audience viewing screens, and a versatile backstage analyst studio. Above, three live broadcaster booths in English, Turkish, and Spanish flank the coaching staff, enriching dynamic interaction layers.

The VCT EMEA tournament shattered records with an astounding online viewership surpassing 320,000, solidifying its position as Riot's most-watched regular season event. This success not only met but exceeded Riot's target for average viewership per episode by an impressive 20%.

Google - Goblin King

NYC Event Space

Raeford Dwyer/ 3C Studio

2017

Google's brand new building at 85 Tenth Ave boasts The Goblin King event space, a 250-seat auditorium with a stage backed by a 4 x 4 video array and two projection screens integrated into an RGBA color-changing feature wall.

Raeford was tasked with creating a sophisticated space that would be used for outward-facing events, internal Google events, and would also be broadcast-friendly. Additionally,

the client wanted the new room's design to echo the "geological" theme of the building's third floor. This was quite a departure from the "black box" spaces Google typically uses for events.

The color-changing layers of the wall resemble geological striations in a canyon, providing visual interest while making the room brand-versatile.

Two drop-down projection screens live in alcoves, thereby integrating them into the design. The alcoves have independent lighting control, so when the screens are in use, they can be framed in darkness. When the screens are retracted, the lighting reverts to the layered wall design.

The monitor array is backed by a ribbon of LED lights, making it "float" off the wall. The stage is modular and removable. The custom-designed lectern is fully integrated into the lighting and AV systems.

The result is a highly versatile, sophisticated and camera-ready event space.
